Hello,

my name is Ashley Bastock:

I am currently a Cleveland Browns beat reporter for cleveland.com, covering my hometown NFL team. I am always on the lookout for interesting feature and enterprise angles.

Prior to this role, I worked for the Akron Beacon Journal, covering primarily high school sports with college and the pro coverage mixed in.

In my first newspaper job, I covered the University of Michigan beat for The Toledo Blade focusing on football and men's basketball. I began working at The Blade in September of 2018 as a general assignment sports reporter and transitioned to the Michigan beat June 2019.

In 2016, I left my job as a production assistant at NBC News' Meet the Press to pursue a career in sports journalism. I began working freelance and covered the Cleveland Cavaliers, Indians, Browns and high school sports for the Associated Press, Fear The Sword, NEO Sports Insiders and Metro Networks.

As my experience up until this point shows, I am willing to work to succeed in this incredibly competitive field. When I made the decision to leave my job with MTP, I knew I was taking a big, but hopefully rewarding, risk. So far, I have not been disappointed, and am confident that this is the right field for me as I continue to improve my work.
